I'M SPEECHLESS, WHAT DO I DO?

Check it out! Ciara dropped a video for, "Speechless," which was supposed to be the third single off her upcoming album Basic Instinct.  I wasn't much into this song upon first listen, but like much of her music, it grew on me.

Visually, i'm really impressed with this clip.  Not because of her body or dance moves (for a change) but because i feel that she's really arrived as an artist.  I see the Ciara BRAND all through this video...in no way did it feel contrived or like she heavily modeled another singer's work.  I like the direction CC is headed in and hope this album performs well. 

THE COOL GUYS ARE WEARING DENIM JACKETS THIS FALL

I picked mine up from GAP last weekend; the "Well-Worn" denim jacket pictured above.  It only makes since that the summer trend of a denim-inspired shirt made it's way into our fall wardrobes.  

Pharrell Williams rocked his denim during a Fuse taping to promote the upcoming N.E.R.D. release Nothing.  

Meanwhile, Drizzy-Drake rocked his jacket to his concert after-party at Greenhouse. That's Melody Thorton and Trey Songz to his right.

LOHAN CAUGHT USING SYRINGE, RIHANNA SHOOTS VIDEO FOR "WHAT'S MY NAME"

Lindsay Lohan spent a few hours behind bars last Friday after she violated her probation by failing two drug tests.  Shortly after her release, photos appeared that showed the actress  injecting what appears to be heroin into her arm. Good thing she's reportedly checking herself into a rehab facility soon. Read more at DAILY MAIL. 

In lighter, and BRIGHTER news, Rihanna was spotted filming a video for her single "What's My Name," in New York City.  Her new album is slated to drop before year's end, but i'm not into anything i've heard from it. Behind-the-scenes footage AQUÍ .

LINDSAY LOHAN SHOULD TAKE NOTES FROM THIS WOMAN

This photo of Nicole Richie at the launch of her new Winter Kate Clothing Collection at Nordstrom really captivated me for some reason.  I remember Nicole when she was the foul-mouthed, chubby pal of Paris Hilton on The Simple Life, when she was the skin-and-bones fashionista, and when she was the inebriated driver who landed on the wrong side of the interstate. To think how she's turned her life around is BEYOND.

It usually works out that the breakout solo star from a group or band is the lead singer, but former Pussycat Doll, Melody Thornton, missed that memo.  We all knew she could sing (remember getting excited when she got to ad lib in "Buttons"?) but i wasn't sure that she could make it as a solo artist. However, after one listen to her Cee-Lo written and produced debut single, "Love Gun," i'm convinced. Link via RAP-UP. 

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK WRAP-UP, PART 2

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Spring 2011, is officially a wrap, but there were plenty QCU tastemakers around the grounds toward the end. Above, Kanye West and Gwen Stefani were snapped mid-chuckle at the L.A.M.B. show after party. Mr. West was also spotted front row with Kelly Osbourne at Jeremy Scott:

You can always count on Kerry Washington to hit up the Calvin Klein show. She sat front row with actresses Julianne Moore + Katie Holmes.

Top model Sessilee Lopez strutted her stuff on the runway at the Gottex show, while her peer, Lyndsay Scott, received a touch up after first looks backstage at Tory Burch.

Kelly Osbourne sat next to several friends-in-my-head. First Kanye at Jeremy Scott, then Kelly Rowland at G-Star. Liv Tyler was in the mix as well.

Designer Rachel Roy and singer Maxwell took a nice photo while around the grounds at the Lincoln Center.

 

Pretty ladies Solange Knowles + Leighton Meester shut it down in their end-of-week looks. Solo hit up the Luca Luca show, and Blair was spotted at Proenza Schouler.

CHANEL IMAN LEADS ROSA CHA RUNWAY

Top model, Chanel Iman, led the runway lineup at the Rosa Cha Spring 2011 fashion show which went down at the Lincoln Center. Despite the fact that she's itty bitty, Iman has been able to cross over into more commercial arenas and is the latest Victoria's Secret Angel.

VIDEO PREMIERE: KELLY ROWLAND'S "ROSE COLORED GLASSES"

Kelly Rowland's team recently dropped the video for "Rose Colored Glasses," her Top-40 targeted domestic first single off her upcoming album.  The still untitled LP has been pushed back to 2011, but has spawned the top 10 UK single and international smash "Commander."  

Kelly's beauty (and breast implants) really shines through in this clip.  I think it more than does the single justice.  

KANYE WEST JETS TO NYC POST VMAS + "RUNAWAY" CDQ

Kanye West was spotted outside his hotel in NYC after debuting his new song "Runaway" at the 2010 VMA Awards. I haven't seen much of him at fashion week (he hit up the Phillip Lim show but that's about it) so i'm sure he'll be taking in the end-of-the-week shows. FASHION WEEK WRAP UP, PART I

Fashion week (Spring 2011) week is almost a wrap, but of course I'll be giving you a quick rundown of my favorite celebrities, models, and designers spotted around the grounds.  For the first time, the Lincoln Center's Damrosch Park played host to fashion week instead of Byrant Park. 

Friend in my head, Solange Knowles, kicked off her fashion week experience by DJ-ing the Roberto Cavalli Fashion's Night Out event.  I've had the pleasure of hearing her spin live and, yep, she's dope.

 

M.I.A.and Lenny Kravitz were one seat apart at the Alexander Wang show, while Vogue's leading ladies Grace Coddington & Anna Wintour were spotted front row at Donna Karan. 

"I got style, ask June if she heard of me" -Kanye West.  Stylist June Ambrose and Omarion were spotted around the grounds.  Omarion's always rocking an interesting look. 

Eyewear designers Coco & Breezy + Zac Posen

BFFs Kelly Rowland + Serena Williams both rocked some leopard to the John Varvatos partry at the  Bowery Boutique.

FASHION WEEK CATCH UP: VANESSA & ANGELA SIMMONS

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is well underway, and Vanessa + Angela Simmons have definitely been making the rounds.  Above, the duo were spotted heading into the Charlotte Ronson show at the Lincoln Center. 

Angela is definitely wearing that outfit.  The sisters also ran into Kelly Rowland during a Fashion Night Out event at the Giuseppe Zanotti Design Boutique:

HOT COCO: ROCHA & WHITE TARGET BREAST CANCER

Top models Jessica White and Coco Rocha join other models during a Nine West photo shoot for the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer Runway Relief Program.  The shoot was done in the Meatpacking District with photographer Nigel Barker (of America's Next Top Model).

GAGA ROCKS MEAT BIKINI FOR VOGUE

I guess Gaga's run out of interesting outfits to pick from, as she covers the current issue of Vogue Hommes Japan rocking a meat-bikini. The shot was styled by Nicola Formichetti, and the imagery comes courtesy of Mr. Terry Richardson.  Gaga speaks on her fashion choices saying, 

So I wake up in the morning and I feel black on the inside so I will wear black...If I feel really light, happy and beautiful I’ll wear something very colorful with rainbows and sparkles and have messy eyeliner and wear my hair like Peggy Moffitt. It really depends on what the day is...

ANNA WINTOUR WANTS PEOPLE "SHOPPING LIKE CRAZY ON THE TENTH"

Fashion designer Marc Jacobs was recently spotted rocking a kilt and Doc Martens for an appearance on the Late Show with Jimmy Fallon along with Vogue editor Anna Wintour.  The fashion icons were on the show to talk up the 2010 Fashion Night Out which will take place on September 10th.  Watch a clip below:

KANYE APOLOGIZES TO SWIFT TO OVERSHADOW PLAGIARISM ACCUSATIONS?

 Before the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West used Twitter to again apologize to Taylor Swift tweeting, "She deserves the apology more than anyone...I wrote a song for Taylor Swift that's so beautiful and I want her to have it."  

Although it seems that Kanye was genuinely attempting to make the impending elephant in the room smaller, some sources believe that his public apology was an attempt to overshadow his current and potential legal troubles. 

"It seems that the music artist that is suing Kanye West for copyright infringement of the song "Stronger" has gotten hold of another song Kanye has copied off of and plans to go public with the song prior to the VMAs. This time it seems to be a pretty egregious copy on Kanye's part (word for word copy).  The story only gets messier because the song that Kanye copied was sold to Jay Z and is currently on one of Jay Z's projects!  Jay Z may have 99 problems and a pending lawsuit may soon be one…Courtesy of Kanye West."  Listen to the sample below:

KELLY ROWLAND INTRODUCES "ROSE COLORED GLASSES," SPOTTED IN NYC

Kelly Rowland is moving forward with her Top 40-targeted single, "Rose Colored Glasses," by shooting a 3D MUSIC VIDEO, and discussing the creation of the song with I Heart Radio. Paps also caught up with Kelly leaving lunch at Da Silvano in the West Village. She's been in NYC doing tons of promo for her upcoming album which is rumored to be titled One Woman Show according to Blazing Swarm. 

I'm not sure why the Dr. Luke produced "Rose Colored Glasses" has yet to pick up steam on the charts.  It's the perfect radio single, and i honestly can say that if it was recorded by Kelly Clarkson, Rihanna, or Jordin Sparks that it would already have been a massive hit.  I don't know what the US has against Kelly Rowland, but hopefully, she can have another single break stateside sooner than later.

CELEBRITY ROUND UP: SOLANGE, TRISTAN WILDS, LINDSAY LOHAN, & JASON DERULO

Friend in my head, Solange Knowles, was spotted leaving lunch at The Grove in Los Angeles. Solo is set to release her much anticipated follow up to Sol-Angel & The Hadley St. Dreams in November, and is most recently featured on the Of Montreal track "Sex Karma."  Meanwhile, a happy and healthy Lindsay Lohan posed for the paps during a stop at a gas station in Hollywood. She was granted early release from rehab, but has a laundry list of stipulations.  Good luck with that, Lilo. 

Actor Tristan Wilds(l) was all smiles as he headed out of Voyeur nightclub over the weekend.  The 90210 star is currently filming for the upcoming season which is slated to begin mid-September. Music newcomer, Jason Derulo, also hit the town this past weekend pulling up to Movida nightclub in a silver Rolls Royce.  Derulo's recently had three top 10 singles, and written songs for Birdman, Cassie, and Pitbull.
