QUICK INTERVIEWS|→ FIZZ & BOOG DISCUSS THEIR NEW EP, 'NIGHTLIFE,' + B2K
Former B2K heartthrobs, Fizz & Boog, are back with their long awaited solo EP, Nightlife, which was released digitally on September 29th. The 5 song EP features the infectious first single, “Bounce,” which is featured on the Bring It On: Fight to the Finish soundtrack. The duo recently took time out with Quick's Catch Up to discuss their upcoming projects, and to answer a few questions regarding B2K.
[QUICK] What have you guys been up to since B2K disbanded back in 2004?
[FIZZ] Last 4 years I still been doin music. I did a solo digital release, and [have been] learning what goes on behind-the-scenes.
[BOOG] Just gettin' our business in order and working on gettin' Popular Ent. up and running. Of course, recording this album, Nightlife, which we've been recordin' for 2 years.
How did you guys decide to regroup and reintroduce yourselves as a duo?
[FIZZ] It was actually Boogs idea for us to come [together] as a duo...
[BOOG] We just thought the music that we were playin' around with in the studio was comin' out better than [the] things we were tryin' solo. Also, the fans are still demanding B2K to come back and we felt that this would be as close as it gets, but also, it keeps hope alive.
Speaking of B2K, there was much drama surrounding the disbanding of the group. My readers and your fans would like to know if you two are on good terms with your former group mates?
[BOOG] Yeah, we're all cool. [We] don't talk as much, but things are better now with us all.
The EP's first single, “Bounce,” is being received well, can you guys tell me the concept behind Nightlife (is it pretty much self-explanatory?)
[FIZZ] The concept behind Nightlife was to basically go with our personal experience. We are 23 and 24 years old now, so that's the life we live...parties, clubs, bottles, and women, but with substance on the tracks.
What are your favorite tracks from the EP?
[BOOG] I would have to say "She Got To Me" "Empty Bottles" and "Rubble."
[FIZZ] My fav songs from Nightlife would be, "Come with Me" and "Rubble."
Are there any upcoming projects or appearances that you can tell us about at the time?
[BOOG] Well, we're starting our UK tour November 11th, and we'll be returning to the US to kick off the [American] tour in January.
