Lil' Wayne entering Manhattan criminal court on October 21
Similar to industry peer T.I., Lil' Wayne may be headed to jail because of gun charges during the pinnacle of his career. Today (Oct. 22), Wayne pleaded guilty to attempted weapon possession, and is expecting to receive a one-year jail sentence.
This charge comes behind a 2007 run-in with NYC police who pulled over his tour bus because they detected marijuana. During the process, the officers said that Wayne tossed a Louis Vuitton bag which had a .40 caliber semi-automatic loaded gun inside.
Wayne is also set for trial (March 2010) in Arizona on felony drug possession and weapons charges. During a 2008 traffic stop in Yuma, police discovered 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine, 41 grams of ecstasy, drug paraphernalia, AND a handgun on his tour bus.
