BUY IT, BURN IT, OR DOWNLOAD IT?| 808s & HEARTBREAK/ KANYE IN NEW ZEALAND

Yesterday, Kanye West performed at the TSB Bank Arena in Wellington, New Zealand. As i was going through his performance photos, i realized that i hadn't put in my two cents about his new album, so i decided to start a new feature called: BUY IT, BURN IT, OR DOWNLOAD IT.

808's & HEARTBREAK [IN STORES NOW]

Billboard is predicting a slower-than-normal first sales week [420,000-450,000] for Kanye's fourth studio album, 808s & Heartbreak. This is a shame, but comes as no surprise to me considering that the album isn't preceded by a number one, sampling-heavy first single (i.e. "Golddigger" & "Stronger").

Also, with the help of the vocoder, Kanye sings his heart away "Hey Mama"-style on the entire album. Anyone who is not a fan of genre blurry hip-hop or rap music should stay away from this album. If that does not describe you, then you are in for a treat.

Of course, this is a breakup album, and my favorite tracks (aside from the first two singles) are "Welcome to Heartbreak," "So Amazing," "See You in My Nightmares," "Robocop," and "Say You Will." I only found myself skipping out early on ONE of the album's 12 tracks. Plus, featured artists are Lil' Wayne and Young Jeezy. [BUY IT]
